Our Mission

The USMA Band Alumni Association, originally founded in 1979, is a service organization consisting primarily of former members of the band of the US Military Academy and has been providing annual Reunion Concerts and Alumni Activities since 1980. It was formed for the express purpose of renewing old acquaintances, promoting goodwill between the active duty Band members and Alumni, helping to promote professional excellence of the USMA Band and the current activities of Alumni members.  In 2008 the organization applied for and was granted 501(c)(19) status and is now recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a not-for-profit corporation.

The organization meets annually, normally the weekend after Father's Day Weekend in June. These annual reunions help to form a living bridge between the various performing generations and the current active duty membership of the USMA Band.

This association actively recruits former members of the Band to join the group for a nominal annual fee and promotes the annual reunion weekends, a quarterly newsletter, a monthly electronic letter, a Database, a member list, access to special messages about current members, and is an active participant in continuing to build an interested "band family" of current and former personnel from all performing groups.

The USMA Band Alumni Association serves its veteran members through coordination with the Superintendent USMA and the Commander, USMA Band.  The Association coordinates activities through the Command Group, USMA Band. The Association is organized with the following officers: President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Chaplain, and Newsletter Editor.
